Example 1: An author has copyright protection for her book. A person who creates their own work has the copyright for their work. They get copyright protection for their lifetime and 70 years after their death.
Example 2: You want to use an image that is not yours, so you ask the owner for permission to use it. Getting permission to use work is important, so you re not stealing from the creator. Example 3: You download a song, put it on a CD, and sell it to a friend. This is copyright piracy, you are stealing someones work. Example 4: An author of a book can make more copies of their book. They have the right to do what they need with their work. Example 5: A copyright symbol is a lowercase "c" inside of a circle. It is usually put at the bottom of songs, documents, or web pages. Example 6: A copyright notice includes the copyright symbol, the year of the creation, the name of the author, and a rights statement. |
